Privacy Policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and keep your data in sync across your devices. We don't sell your information. Your business numbers are yours, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Who we are
Resell Tracker is a small, independent business based in the United States. It helps resellers track storage units, items, sales, expenses, supplies and goals. When this policy says "Resell Tracker," "we" or "us," it means us. "You" means anyone who visits backtester24.com or uses Resell Tracker on the web, in the Windows app or on a phone.
This policy covers the Resell Tracker app everywhere it runs: on backtester24.com, in the Windows app, in the iPhone and iPad app (App Store), and in the Android app (from Google Play, or the Android app download on our website). On Google Play the Android app is listed as "Resell Tracker: Flip Profits", from the developer "Resell Tracker App".
What we collect
Your account
Your email address and password when you sign up. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed) by our sign-in provider, so no one at Resell Tracker can read it. We also keep when you signed up and whether you're on the free trial, the free plan or Pro.
The business data you enter
Units, items, sales, prices, expenses, bills, supplies, box sizes, goals, notes, links, the addresses you type (your home, places and trips) and any photos or files you add. This is your information. We store it so it's backed up and so it can sync between your devices. A Whatnot sales import keeps each buyer's Whatnot username with the sale, to tell your sales apart, and nothing else about buyers.
The camera and your photos
In the iPhone and Android apps (and on the website, if you allow it), the camera is used to scan QR labels and barcodes and to take photos of your items. Scanning happens on your device: camera pictures used for scanning are never saved or uploaded. Only photos you choose to add to a unit or item are stored with your account.
Photo search (Scan, Research)
When you look up a photo with Google Lens, and only after you say yes the first time, a smaller copy of the photo is stored in your account, and Google Lens gets a private link to it that works for 5 minutes. We then delete our copy, usually within minutes, and always when you delete your account. Google receives the photo and handles it under Google's Privacy Policy. A barcode search only opens eBay or Google with the barcode's number. For eBay's photo search, the photo is copied on your device for you to paste into eBay yourself; it isn't sent from Resell Tracker.
Basic usage and device information
Like most online services, we automatically receive some technical information when you use Resell Tracker, such as your IP address, browser or device type, app version, the time of your requests, and error reports. We use it to keep the service running, fix problems and prevent abuse.
Messages you send us
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and follow up.
Location (GPS trips, phone apps)
The iPhone and Android apps can log a business drive for your mileage log with the phone's GPS. The website and the Windows app never use your location.
- Only when you start a trip or set home. Location is used only when you tap Start trip or Set home here, and your phone asks your permission first (while using the app). You can say no and still log trips by hand.
- While a trip runs, even in the background. From Start trip until you tap Finished, the app uses your phone's precise location, also when you leave the app or the screen is off (on Android, even when the app is closed). The Android app shows a "Tracking your trip" notification the whole time, if you allow its notifications; the iPhone shows its location sign. It stops when you tap Finished (in the app, or Finish in its notification).
- What's saved: the trip and the way you drove. When you tap Finished, the trip is saved in your mileage log with its date, its start and end times, the miles, where it started and ended (each to about 1 meter), and the from and to (like Home, a unit, or "Start point" and "End point" until you change them). The way you drove is saved with it too, as a simplified line (at most 500 points, each to about 1 meter), so the app can show the trip on a map from A (where you started) to B (where you ended). Each GPS reading along the way stays on your phone and is deleted once the app saves the trip. (If your phone backs up its apps to Google or iCloud, that backup can hold what the app keeps on the phone, like a trip that's running or waiting to be saved, and the copy of your data it keeps to open quickly.)
- Only you can see it, on your devices. The trip and its route are part of your business data: saved with your account and synced to your devices (the website, the Windows app and your phones), like the rest of your data. Other people can't see them (we only look at your data as How we use it says).
- The map. To draw the street map under your route, the app loads the map (its pictures, label fonts and icons) from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), made from OpenStreetMap's data. This happens on any device where a trip's map is shown (its map, or a GPS trip's Edit window), the website and the Windows app too. Like any website, OpenFreeMap receives your IP address and which part of the map is shown: the area around your trip. Your route itself isn't sent to them: it's drawn on your device. Without internet, the app shows a plain drawing of the route instead.
- Deleting it. Delete a trip and its route goes with it. Deleting your account deletes all your trips and routes. (Until they're replaced by newer ones, the few earlier copies of your data described in How long we keep it can still hold a trip you deleted; deleting your account deletes them too. Some copies stay on your own devices, like a trip that's still running: see Deleting your Resell Tracker account.)
- Home for GPS trips. If you tap Set home here, that point (rounded to about 10 meters) is saved with your data and syncs to your devices, so the app can tell when a trip starts or ends at home. (A trip's own start and end points are kept to about 1 meter, as above.) You can clear it in the phone app's Settings, Trips & miles.
- Never shared. Your GPS routes, where your trips started and ended, and your GPS home aren't used for ads, aren't sold and aren't given to anyone. (Showing a trip's street map only asks OpenFreeMap for the map of that area, as described in The map above. Get the miles from a map gives Google Maps where you start and the place you went: see Who we share it with. The ads on the free plan get your IP address, which shows your rough area: see Ads and cookies.)
How we use it
- To run your account and sync your data between the website, the Windows app and your phone.
- To manage your free trial and subscription.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
- To keep Resell Tracker secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To understand, in general terms, how the app is used so we can make it better.
- To send you account emails, such as confirming your email address and resetting your password, and, if you've said yes to them, trial reminders and offers. See Emails we send.
We don't look through your business data except when you ask us to help with something, or when we need to in order to keep the service working or safe.
Emails we send
- Account emails, always. The emails you need to use your account, like confirming your email address and resetting your password. These go out whether or not you've signed up for anything else.
- Trial reminders and offers, only if you're subscribed. For example, a reminder the day before your free trial ends, a few extra trial days, or a discount on Pro. You're subscribed if you ticked "Email me offers and tips" when you signed up (the box starts unticked) or turned them on later in Settings. You can turn them off anytime.
- Easy to stop. Every trial reminder and offer has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and there's a switch in the app's Settings. Either one stops these emails right away. You'll still get account emails.
- Who delivers them. Our emails are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service. Resend receives your email address and the email itself, only to deliver it. We keep a simple record of which of these emails we've sent you and whether you used the offer in one, so we never send you the same email twice and can tell whether our offers are useful.
Payments
On the website, payments for Resell Tracker Pro are handled by Stripe. In the iPhone app, Pro is sold through Apple's App Store: Apple handles the payment with your Apple Account. The Android app doesn't sell Pro: nothing is bought in it. If your account has Pro from the website or the iPhone app, it works in the Android app too. We never see or store your full card number. We only receive limited details from the payment provider, such as whether a payment went through, your plan, and when it renews. For a subscription bought in the iPhone app, Apple sends us its transaction ID, the product, its renewal or end date, and whether it was a test (sandbox) purchase, and we link these to your account so Pro works on all your devices. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy, and Apple's by Apple's Privacy Policy.
eBay (only if you connect it)
You can connect your eBay seller account to Resell Tracker, so the app can read your listings and, when you press the button for it, end a listing or put your SKU on it. In the Windows app it can also read your eBay sales, to mark them sold for you with eBay's own numbers, and your open eBay return requests, to remind you to answer them. If you don't connect eBay, none of this happens.
- What the app reads from eBay. Your active listings (item number, title, Custom label (SKU), quantity, price, start date and the link to its photo), and for a listing you add to the app or act on, also its category and condition and whether it's still up, yours, and has bids. Also your seller level and your Store level, and your eBay user ID and username. The user ID and username show which eBay account is connected, and let us act on eBay's notices when an eBay account is closed. If you use eBay sales in the Windows app, it also reads your eBay orders and the money eBay moved for them: what sold, its price, the buyer's shipping, sales tax, refunds, eBay's fees, the shipping labels you bought on eBay and fees tied to an order (like ad fees). It only reads them: the app never changes an order, a refund or a payout. With the same OK it reads your open return requests: which listing and order, how many, the reason the buyer picked, where the return is, when it was opened, the day you must answer by and the refund asked. It only reads them too: the app never answers, accepts or refunds a return.
- What it changes on eBay. Only what you ask for: when you press End on eBay or Put SKUs on eBay, and only those listings.
- Your eBay sign-in stays with eBay. You sign in on eBay's own page, so we never see your eBay password. The access eBay gives us is kept encrypted on our server (Supabase), never in your data or on your devices.
- No buyer details. Buyer details eBay sends along (like a bidder's user ID, a buyer's name, username, address, phone and email on an order, or a buyer's username and comments on a return request) are dropped on our server and never kept.
- What's kept from your sales. A sale the app marks gets eBay's day, price, fees and shipping label in your data, with eBay's order and sale numbers, so it's never counted twice. The Windows app also keeps short notes on your computer (titles and amounts) for what it shows you. Nothing else from your orders is kept: our server passes eBay's answers to the app and keeps no copy. Return requests aren't saved in your data: while one is open, the Windows app keeps a short note on your computer (the listing's title, the reason and the day to answer by), deleted once the return is closed or when you sign out. It also remembers the return's number for 60 days after, so it doesn't tell you about the same return twice.
- When it was checked. Listing details shown in the app say when they were checked with eBay.
- Disconnect any time. In the app's Settings (we tell eBay to cancel our access), or in your eBay account's permissions. Deleting your Resell Tracker account deletes the connection too.
- If eBay tells us an account was closed. eBay lets apps know when an eBay account is closed. We then delete that account's connection. Your own sales records in the app stay yours (they are your business and tax records), and you can delete them yourself.
Ads and cookies
On the website
On the free plan, Resell Tracker shows ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings. Pro accounts don't see ads.
In the iPhone app
On the free plan, the iPhone app shows a banner ad from Google AdMob. Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects information about your device and how you use the ads (such as your IP address, which shows your rough area, device type, and which ads are shown and tapped) to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.
- Apple's tracking question. iOS asks whether Resell Tracker may track your activity. If you allow it, Google may use your device's advertising identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you. If you don't, the identifier isn't shared and the ads aren't personalized. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- Ad choices. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and the UK), Google's consent message asks you first, and you can change your answer later with Ad privacy choices in the app's More menu (on a wide screen, at the bottom of the side menu).
- Report an ad. If an ad looks wrong or inappropriate, tap More (on a wide screen, look at the bottom of the side menu), then Report an ad, and tell us what it showed. We'll look into it and block that advertiser if needed.
- No ads on Pro. Pro members don't see ads.
Learn more in how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and how Google uses advertising data.
In the Android app
On the free plan, the Android app shows one banner ad from Google AdMob, at the bottom of the screen. Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects information about your device and how you use the ads (such as your IP address, which shows your rough area, device type, your phone's advertising ID, and which ads are shown and tapped) to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud.
- The advertising ID. Google may use your phone's advertising ID to show ads that are more relevant to you. You can reset or delete it at any time in your phone's Settings (under Privacy, then Ads, or Google, then Ads, depending on your phone). Without it, the ads aren't personalized.
- Ad choices. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU, the UK and some US states), Google's consent message asks you first, and you can change your answer later with Ad privacy choices at the bottom of the app's menu.
- No ads on Pro or the free trial. Pro members and members on the free trial don't see ads.
Storage on your device
We also use your browser's (or the app's) storage to keep you signed in and to remember small preferences on your device. Our web pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Where your data is stored
Your account and business data are stored with Supabase, a database and sign-in provider, on servers in the United States. Our website is hosted by Bluehost in the United States. The Windows app, the phone apps and the web app may also keep a copy of your data on your own device so they open quickly.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we never share your business data with other resellers. We only share information:
- With service providers that help us run Resell Tracker (Supabase for accounts and data storage, Resend for delivering our emails, Stripe for payments on the website, Apple for payments in the iPhone app, Google AdSense for ads on the website's free plan, Google AdMob for ads on the free plan of the iPhone and Android apps, Bluehost for web hosting). They may only use it to provide their service to us. We only use providers that protect your information with the same or equal protection as this policy.
- With Google Lens, a photo you choose to look up there (see Photo search above).
- With OpenFreeMap, only when a trip's map is shown: the request for the map of that area (your IP address and which part of the map), never your route (see Location).
- With Google Maps, only when you tap Get the miles from a map: where you start (like the home address you typed) and the place you went (its address, or its name if it has none), so Google Maps can show the drive. Your GPS location isn't sent.
- With eBay, when you connect it: the requests you make (ending a listing, putting a SKU on it), and the app's requests to read your listings and, if you use eBay sales, your orders, payments and return requests. See eBay.
- When the law requires it, such as a valid court order.
- To protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Resell Tracker.
- If Resell Tracker is ever sold or merged with another business. In that case your information would move to the new owner under this policy, and we'd tell you first.
Keeping it safe
Data travels between your device and our servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own data. We limit who can access our systems and keep our tools up to date. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else, and tell us right away if you think someone got into your account.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. To help you undo a mistake, we also keep a few earlier copies of your business data (from the last 7 days you used the app, and from before your last few big changes and restores); you can restore one in Settings, Your data. When you delete your account in the app, your account, your business data, those copies and your photos are deleted right away. Our note that an account was deleted keeps only part of its email (like j*****n@gmail.com). If you ask us by email instead, we do it within 30 days. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire. We may keep limited records longer when the law requires it, such as payment records for taxes.
The Windows app also keeps its own backups of your data on your computer (one for each of the last 30 days you changed something, and a few from before big changes), and replaces the oldest with newer ones. Deleting your account doesn't remove them, or a backup file you saved yourself: they stay on your computer until you delete them.
The eBay connection is kept until you disconnect it, delete your account, or it expires (about every 18 months). eBay sales the app marks are part of your business data and are kept like the rest of it.
Your choices
- See and change your data: everything you enter can be viewed and edited in the app.
- Delete some of your data, and keep your account: delete any unit, item, photo, expense or trip in the app (it's gone from your account and every device that syncs with it; earlier copies go as described in How long we keep it), clear your GPS home in the phone app's Settings (and your typed home address there, on any device), or erase all your business data with Settings, Your data, Erase everything. Your account stays, and you can start fresh. (A photo or invoice you delete, or erase, is taken out of your data, but its file stays in your account's private file storage until you delete your account or ask us to delete it, and in the Windows app's photos or invoices folder on your computer until you delete it there.)
- Get a copy: in the app, open Settings, go to Your data and choose Save a backup file (or Export to Excel). You can also email us and we'll send you a copy.
- Correct your email: email us if you need your account email changed.
- Emails: stop trial reminders and offers with the unsubscribe link in any of them, or the switch in the app's Settings.
- Ads: upgrade to Pro to remove ads. On the website, turn off personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings. In the iPhone app, turn off tracking in iPhone Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking, or use Ad privacy choices in the app's More menu (on a wide screen, the side menu). In the Android app, reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings, or use Ad privacy choices in the app's menu.
Depending on where you live, such as California, you may have extra privacy rights under local law. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live. We won't treat you differently for making one.
Deleting your Resell Tracker account
You can delete your Resell Tracker account yourself, on the website, in the iPhone app or in the Android app: open Settings, go to Your data, and choose Delete my account. Your account, your business data and your photos are deleted right away, and you're signed out on every device. This can't be undone, so choose Save a backup file first if you'd like a copy. If you connected eBay, its connection is deleted too.
Some copies on your own devices aren't reached, and stay until you delete them there: a backup file you saved; the Windows app's data, photos and backups on your computer (see How long we keep it); and on another iPhone that was signed in, the copy the app keeps to open quickly. (After your account is deleted, that iPhone may only show the sign-in screen, but the copy stays until you sign in there with another account or delete the app. Signing out there first, before you delete your account, removes it.) On the phone that logged a GPS trip, a trip that's still running keeps going (signing out or deleting your account doesn't stop it, so tap Finished first), and a finished trip that's waiting to be saved, or one saved less than 10 minutes before the app was last open on that phone (kept so you can undo), stays on that phone until someone signs in there again.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Pro subscription, so cancel it first. If you subscribed on our website, use Settings, Your plan, Cancel subscription. If you subscribed in the iPhone app, use Settings, Your plan, Cancel subscription in the app, or your iPhone's Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions. The Android app sells nothing, so there's nothing to cancel in it.
You can also email inyourdowntime@gmail.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll cancel any subscription you have with us on the website and delete your account and business data within 30 days.
Children
Resell Tracker is not meant for children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll also let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
